Feel Good Songs

Those are the songs that the radio will coincidently play at the very moment you need a boost of energy, mental or emotional uplift. I’ve also added some of the songs below because they are just beautiful to listen to, even though they may be sad songs.

All songs link to YouTube for your visual and auditory enjoyment.

What songs do you think should be added to the list? Feel free to share your comments.

A thousand years by Sting, my favorite musician of all times, singing a beautiful love story. The man KNOWS how to write love songs!

Angels by Robbie Williams – best song to give you strength when you really need it. Robbie Williams rocks!

Au bord de l’eau by Gerard de Palmas – even if you don’t speak French, you can appreciate the beauty of this song. I love de Palmas’ sultry voice…

Babylon by David Gray – I love the voice of this amazing songwriter, and this acoustic version really showcases his talent. Also check out Fugitive,  Be Mine, You’re the One, …

Bad day by Daniel Powter – I’m not sure how a song called “bad day” can make you feel better, but it really does!

Drive by by Train – One of my favorite bands and a great song to dance, dance, dance!

Everybody’s changing by Keane – I LOVE blasting that song and singing and dancing to it! A great song to listen to when you don’t feel so good. Also try Somewhere only we know, what a great song!

Good Life by OneRepublic – I can’t listen to this song and not feel good about my life. Besides, what other song mentions both Paris and San Diego 10 seconds apart from each other?

Grace Kelly by Mika – best song to listen to on a feeling-down day. You can’t help yourself but sing, dance, jump up and down in your living room (with your kids, or by yourself).

High by James Blunt – great song to sing at the top of your lungs when you’re in the car by yourself!

Hold On by Michael Buble – oh my god, is this a great love song or what? A great source for inspiration!

I just haven’t met you yet by Michael Buble – happy, happy song, and cute video that make grocery shopping so much more fun.

I’m yours by Jason Mraz – my kids’ favorite version of Jason’s song. I think Jason need to thank them for helping him reach the 10 million views on YouTube, as they have asked to watch this video again, and again, and again. Jason, we’re still waiting for you to come play the guitar at our house!

It’s a beautiful life by Fisher – Take a drive in the car in good weather, roll down the windows and enjoy the ride!

Just a kiss by Lady Antebellum – I’m not a fan of country music but I absolutely love this song and what it describes. I can only hope to feel like that one day. A girl’s gotta dream… And I can see glimpses of Paris in the video, which makes me like it even more.

Life is beautiful by Keb Mo – my life instantly becomes beautiful when I hear this song. I can’t stop thinking about my kids and how much I love them, and I want to spend my days and nights walking through this world with them…

New Soul by Yael Naïm – Joy, joy, joy! La la la la, la la la la la la…

O mio babbino caro by Montserrat Caballe – for all romantic moms out there who want to remember what it feels like to love someone passionately.

Peponi by The Piano Guys – an African version of Coldplay’s Paradise song, and so much better than the original. I love The Piano Guys and their own versions of classical music and modern songs.

River flows in you by Yiruma – such a beautiful melody and my ears love it.

Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole – I can’t help myself but wish the best for my kids as I hear this version of the song. I also love the version of this song by The Piano Guys.

Sting Live in Berlin (2010) – Wow! A two-hour concert.

The Impossible Dream by Luther Vandross – Is this the best version of this song from Man of La Mancha, or what?

The rainbow connection by Jason Mraz – thank you, Jason, for a beautiful, colorful rendition of this song.

Until by Sting, my favorite musician of all times. Just a beautiful, beautiful song to listen to.

I’m a big Sting fan too. Check out “Color me Dad” by Keb Mo. I think you’ll like it.

  2. Here are two of my favorites by Astrud Gilberto. I can always listen to her. Her voice seems kind and cheerful even when the song is melancholy!

    “Summer Samba” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHKBuE7bNFM

The second one is “It Might As Well Be Spring”. This is just a clip of it though because YouTube only has the a live version which doesn’t do it justice. http://www.last.fm/music/Astrud+Gilberto/_/It+Might+As+Well+Be+Spring
